i was given a boat. I believe its a 1978 Glassmaster Boat 210. I think it has a 140hp engine. Ive seen OMC on it. Can anyone give me some info on this model boat? Is this a inboard/outboard...or a inboard?

It hasnt ran in couple years. I want to get it running. How does one test/start/crank this type boat out of the water? What are the other things i can check while im at it.

In my experience, FREE boats are way too expensive and overpriced to keep.

OMC went out of buisness about 10 years ago. Parts are expensive to non existant on some items. Mechanics that work on them are even scarcer.
The engine is a GM, but not automotive and there are lots of parts available for them, but not the OMC parts.

First thing you need, If you should decide to keep it, is an OEM service manual. Without it, you don't stand a chance.

Change the oil and filter; pull the spark plugs, spray oil or atf in there, let sit overnight. Ground coil wire, spin over and blow that crap out, and build oil pressure on gauge, 15 is fine.New plugs, points, etc. Put fuel line in new container of gas. Try to start. Then service the drive. All this on muffs, not over 1500 rpm
