...at least the prep for it. I may be a bit behind some of you other southern boaters. :)

Car is packed, tunes are loaded, gps is primed, travel mug ready for Coffee No. 1.

I'm heading up to the cabin today to re-commission the water system, check on any winter damage, pay the boat storage guy, (and...begin planning my carport/boatport add-on to the garage so I can finally stop paying the boat storage guy. :D), get the old Ferguson ready for launching duty, and check on the dock mooring anchors.

I won't actually splash the Scout this weekend, but am really looking forward to some alone time to tinker and get ready. (Lady and young Prince Scoutabout have begged off this trip. Actually, my wife is telling me to stop looking so guilty and just go enjoy myself....LOL.)

So, just 300 km between me and Nirvana and I just had to share!

Re: New Season Starts!

My season started yesterday.
Water temp 52
Air temp 55
fish 45 feet down. (didn't care)
White caps in the middle of the lake.
Big hole at the launch
wore winter gear. (Hat, gloves etc)
Boat fired right off. (Good prep always helps)
Went into a cove. tried every rod in the boat ( all new line).
Reset my hull offset on the fish finder.

Rode around a little and checked my friends camp.

Stayed for 1 1/2 hours.

Watched a guy hit the hole at the launch on my way in. (don't people look at the launch area first time out ??? Broke a tail light because of it)

Loaded up and rechecked the bilge.(DRY)

Had a great day. :D
