I replaced the risers, spacers and manifolds on my 97 5.7L merc but now the temp gauge isn't working. I took off and cleaned both connections to the thermastat housing but that didn't help. No fuses are blown. Did I accidentally disconnect something while doing the work? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Also, does it matter that one side of the risers feel hotter than the other side while running? Water seemed to be flowing well when it was run on muffs. Thanks.

Re: New Risers and Manifolds

One side normally feels hotter than the other when you are running on the hose. They should both stay cool enough to comfortably keep your hand on them. Once its in the water they should feel about the same. At least thats the way my 97 5.7LX is. I did the manifolds over the winter
