New restoration

Hey guys working on a new restoration. I wanted to know where would be a good place to get reasonably priced resin for when I a-class everything.

I found epoxy resin and supplies on eBay called Max Bond have used it for several large projects and a number of small fixes. Last time I purchased any was a number of years ago but the price was good.

:welcome: to iBoats . . .

Lots of online places sell resin, iBoats is one of them. One thing to consider is seeing if you can buy locally or within a reasonable drive. The shipping cost of resin & glass tend to make the low-priced online sources the same cost as the more expensive local sources.

So I bought this boat. Pretty cheap actually and wanted to restore it. I heard from someone they only made these for 3 years, but who knows because I cant find anything online about them. It's a 1989 Charger 1850 boat. All Family Craft, Inc made them and the HIN is CDG96166C989.
I know people are going to say why did you get an older boat the insides are probably crap. Yeah they are, but it's a fun project for me and when it's done I'll be super happy that i did something that i and my family can enjoy for a long time. I have all of the capabilities to do this restore as I havent restored or built a boat. But, I am a woodworker, jack o all trades but no master. It's similar if not as bad as what FriscoBoater did. So I have a nice blueprint. I mean I haven't torn back too far, but i feel like the transom is pretty solid.

All Family was (according to the HIN lookup) out of Richline, MO. There is still a Charger boat company out of that same town - so maybe the new iteration of the brand? - - It wasn't unusual between the 60s and 80s for boat companies to pop in and out of existence. Trailer boats were kind of a dime a dozen.

If ya' like it and wanna' do it - go for it!

Welcome aboard.
