New Prop Old Drive

I received my new prop today and it doesn't seem right. I have an old Mercruiser which uses the old thrust washer. The new prop does not have the same clearance as the old one for the washer to fit and the aft castle nut washer to show the splines. If I put a newer thrust washer ( Alpha One ) and tighten the nut I cannot spin the prop. What suggestions does anyone have.

Finally found someone that had a thrust washer that would space the prop far enough out to put the nut on and allow it to spin. He did not know what it came off but it works now I can get back in the water.
