New problem with ***/trim

OK, I bypassed with a jumper wire on the trim solenoid from the large red connector to the large blue connector the outdrive starts to move in the downward direction but, it is laboring and sounds like the trim motor is slow to operate.
However, when I push the IN button on the helm controls the outdrive will come up with no drag.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this.
Thanks to all who respond, Mike

Thank You, This is what I was thinking, I still need a wiring diagram for an early prestolite pump w/a single solenoid in a 1970 Sea Ray SRV 190 Mercrusier 165. I can't get the Adults Only Mercrusier manuals links for the 1963- 1973 will not let me access them. HELP Please.
Thanks, Mike

Thank You Don S. I can now continue with my restoration of my classic Sea Ray. I am not sure why, I can't access the DIY section on the main page. Most likely this crappy PC that I'm working on.
Thanks Again To The Oracle In the great Northwest, Mike
