My wife bought us a 1993 Chris Craft 238 Cuddy and it is turning in to a project. Needing to replace the bilge pump and it looks like there is possibly a removable panel in the center of the floor in front of the engine. If that is the case is there a trick to get it out?

Welcome aboard:

Bilge pump is usually right under the engine somewhere in a sterndrive. That panel that you're showing is often a ski locker, but the way it's shaped on that boat, perhaps it's something else.

The panel doesn't just lift out using the latch at the end?

I wonder of Scott is not on to something. Thinking the panel was moving around when under power so the PO screwed it down?

Perhaps that panel gives access to the fuel tank. I have a similar panel in my '87 Cobalt.
