New Owner Question

I just purchased a 1991 ML 8hp. Serial # OD 065923

The rubber grip is torn and the stop switch in the grip does not work.

How difficult is it to repalce the grip and repair/replace the stop button?

If you have basic mechanical skills, it will not be hard at all. There are several sources that sell manuals which would cover the process. Mine is a 91 also. I just got the manual in and I've already done a fair bit of work to my new-to-me 50hp. Another good source is Crowly Marine or West Marine. Both of their web sites have extensive parts lists and exploded assembly views for most motors. Crowly carries most of the parts you'd need in stock. With these views and available parts it should not be a hard fix at all.
