Hello guys! I'm a new boat owner and new on here. I've looked but I can't find any specific answers to my question so I have to ask.

I just purchased a 26' Imperial cruiser which has a Norcold refrigerator in it. I'm not sure if I have a refrigerator problem or maybe it's just not getting 12v power. I have turned on the power switch inside the fridge but nothing happens. Batteries are charged and everything but it still does not work when it is unplugged from shore power. Any suggestions?? Is there a fuse possibly I need to find??

I purchased the boat from a dealer who took it in on trade so they tell me they don't know.

There is a distinct possibility that the unit is only 110volts(shore power). There should be a data plate on the door frame- inside. If it doesn't have anything else it should have the model #. Go to the Norcold site for the specs. Good Luck with the new boat.

probably something minor, Norcold has been around for a lot of years, try finding them on the web or maybe someone on this site has a manual.

Do you have the switch on for DC power?

My fridge is the same way -- by default, it does not run when unplugged from shore power. I happen to have a switch on my dash that allows me to turn the fridge on and run it off of the battery, but I never use it. I always fear that I'll forget it's turned on and get out and swim for a couple of hours and come back to a dead battery.

The only panel I see is the breaker panel when connected to shore power. I can't find anything like a fuse panel or anything when operating on 12v except for what is run from the steering wheel area. Nothing below is operated from there except for turning on the water pump.

Yes, the switch is on to operate on DC power but it doesn't change anything. Actually, everything inside the cabin works no matter what I have the switch on for some reason. The only thing that I can't do is crank the motor when I turn it off.

i have to have three separate switches on for the fridge when away from the dock. obviously the main battery switch must be on. then i have a DC MAIN on my power panel that gets switched on and then a separate breaker for fridge, water, head, stereo and whatnot
