New Optimax oil

I have just picked a new Optimax 75 hp motor. There was approx 1 or 2 litres of oil in the tank. I purchased a bottle of Optimax oil from the dealer and when I topped up the oil I noticed the Optimax oil was a brown clouur, yet the oil in the tank was green. I was wondering why this would be as the dealer recommended me to use the Optimax oil, and in fact sold it to me. He is a reputable Mercury dealer and I could not see him selling a brand new motor and putting the wrong oil or an inferior oil into it. I am puzzled and any info will be welcome.

So the motor was new from the factory? I think Optimax's can use regular TC-W III oil, as well as DI oil. However, it is still a good question for the dealer.

I asked the dealer and he said perhaps they may have put premium oil into the motor at the factory. I am in Australia and was wondering what colour the premium oil is or if the Optimax oil in USA may be a different colour to that available in Australia.
