New Old Boat owner - what is this thing installed under my boat?

I am a new, first time owner of a 1988 Pro-line 20' CC. My friend and I were rerunning the trailer lighting and noticed a bronze looking fixture installed under the boat's stern. Since we were not sure what this is, I thought that someone more familiar with power boats might recognize it. It could be a fish finder or other sensor.

I attached a Photo with 2 views of the item. If you recognize this, could you let me know that it is?

Thanks in advance!

Looks to be an intake grate for a thru hull fitting. Probably a livewell or raw water wash-down.

haha...don't you mean Welcome to boats in general? lol@fishfinder!!

sorry, I can't help myself.

Definetly a thru-hull scoop style pickup for either a livewell or baitwell.

Thanks Gents,

Now that you mention it, we found the hose connected to it near the bilge and it has a hose that used to supply a wash down.

Thanks much - Well I really showed my ignorance on that one!
