New motors for 20ft. boat

I am looking at a 20 ft. center console with a 150hp fuel injected 2-stoke motor. Yamaha seems too expensive and would be my first pick (brand loyalty). However, the Evinrude/Bombardier or Mercury. are less money. I like Evinrudes 7year warranty. Any input in this area?

I read a post about the pre bombadier fitch motors being bad, (with the sage mariners on here chiming in unison about the lemony bad taste they will leave in your mouth ... come to think of it, at twelve grand a pop, make that a lemon enema ... <br /><br />they were talking about the 2001 235 in particular, I dont know if this is a blanket statement ... but you might be tempted by leftovers at big savings<br /><br />apparently post bombadiers are de bomb, so if you find a 2003, they are good to go!

captbob,<br /><br />The extended warranty is only being offered on the later models built by Bombardier.<br /><br />I wouldn't be afraid of them.
