New motor

Hello,

In upgrading my Johnson 60hp VJ60TLENE to a new E-TEC, I had a few questions. I know I will need new controls, but will I also need new steering controls? I currently have the cable system. Also will the I-command system work with this motor?

I Command was designed for use with E-Tecs.

Controls should be reusable. A BRP dealer should be helpful here. If you're planning on rigging yourself, get an authorized dealer to inspect and do the first startup to avoid killing the warranty. Steering is your choice, cable or hydraulic.
