Almost finished installing FWC on my new bobtail 5.7 from Merc.I still have to pull the risers to change out the gaskets. Is it easier to install the motor befor putting the risers back on so as not to have to line up the rear mount and align/insert into Y-pipe boots at the same time? Also found upon opening crate that the new motor also came with a new steering assembly(connects to steering cable and transom assembly) and a new trim pump assembly.Should I go ahead and change these as well since the boat is 11 years old)? How long do bilge pumps last? I'm considering changeing this as well since it is located underneath the motor and would be no-fun changeing it after the motor is in.Is this a good inexpensive "insurance plan"? I use this boat pretty much all saltwater.

It's usually easier to put the risers on after you have the engine in the boat. Especially if you aren't familiar with changing a lot of engines.

As far a bilge pumps go, they last till they die. Vague, but there are way to many unknown variables.
