New Merc Tach

Hey fellas. Just wondering if I can get some help with a tachometer on Ebay. I'd like to know if I can use a Honda Gauge for my Merc outboard. From what I understand, there shouldn't be a problem. My OB is a 50, and the guage is made for the Honda BF50. I believe both engine settings would be 6 poles, correct? Here's the gauge...<br /><br /> Honda Gauge

if the pick up (sig.) is set correctly to the #of poles should work..check supply v.& polarity.
