I've had a 16' Lucraft (whaler wannabe) for 10 years, 48 Johnson. Did a decent job for fishing and towing a skier. I dragged it home from Maine to Maryland and 15 minutes from home got sideswiped by a hit and run jerk. I brought it home to sell it. So before I really get it on the market, I find an 89 Lund 16 DLX, 30 Johnson tiller steer. I knew of the Lund reputation, sort of, so I looked at it. A guy bought it and used it for 10 years and gave it to his grandson, who kept it for another 6 years and now needs to sell. I started the motor, looked at everything I could think of and the only issues were scratches on the painted hull, and rust on the trailer. I paid him $1500 and drove it home. I feel OK about the deal but after pull-starting a 9.9 for 10 years+ I'm somewhat worried that this is going to be kind of a pain. How'd I do? I feel pretty good about the rig and am optimistic that it will handle and perform like the reputation that precedes it.
