Hello, I am new to boating though I have done a great deal of research lately, I am very interested in the Hurricane boat line up. Does everyone here feel that they made the right choice? I feel confident that this is the best type of boat for my fiance and myself. We are looking at either a Fundeck or GS models. We are in our late 20's early 30's looking for a combo fish, ski, party boat. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Re: New Member looking for some help

I purchased a FunDeck GS 211 OB in 2004. Yamaha 225 with the full Fishing package. I bought it in Cape Coral Flordia but l live in Ohio. The center console was the best for our needs. I love to fish (ICW, Offshore and inland lake in Ohio) My kids 18, 21, 27, & 28 love to tube, ski, etc. My wife loves to cruse and fish. I purshase an aluminum trailer for the salt water since I haul it from Ohio to FLAUSA about 4 time a year. LOVE the boat. I looked at many different brands and this fit our needs perfect. Write down what you want to do with your boat on the water and then start to shop.
Hope this helps.....chorstman1@gmail.com

Wow, you expected a response in two days? You will find that there are apparently few Hurricane owners that use the internet... or there are just few Hurricane owners period. If you ever find a site where Hurricane gets more attention let us know.

I bought my 97 about 4 years ago because it was the perfect combination of fish/party/ski. But I didn't have the luxury of shopping around due to a limited budget.

I just bought a '01 196 ff(fish/fun). These Hurricanes are basically the sport utility vehicles of the boating world. I have a friend who is a professional fisherman and a brother who is an avid skier/wakeboarder and they are both very impressed with the Hurricane I bought...hope you find as good of a deal as I did.

If you are still looking, keep going. Hurricanes have major electrical system problems. I've had 7 different problems in 2 years. Much too expensive to take it back to the dealer each time. It would add several thousand to the cost of the boat. Plus, the company won't help.
