New Lake

Found a new Musky lake about 1 hour away and headn there in am....boat is back,got wifes ok and life is good again....From now til Oct. is my time. Will try ands hit at least five different lakes if boat co-operates.<br />Got eight now under belt now but nothing over 36". Just ain't like LOTW or Leach is it JB?<br /><br />Hoping sometime to hook up with MY but rumor has it he still huntn for that first one..Neumans is also lookn for his first one and worse yet he is within 40 min.from hog heaven...

hey gone fishin if you do hook up with those gators bring some ice for the shoulder casue ti will be sore from throwin stuff to them all day

Gonfsh, I wouldn't suggest the noodle thing. I have been watching shark week and saw too many people without pieces.<br /><br />I can just hear it now. "hey watch this!"<br /><br />Isn't there a redneck joke in there somewhere?

GIve us the report.<br /><br />Here at Raystown usually plan on about 8 man hours per gator - trolling 20-30'deep mudflats with 7 inch Rapalas or Flatfins. Favorite Rap is perch color. Like the jointed flats in red & white with sparkle flecks. Usually use the deep sea equipment for 'em !

gonefishin the fish i noodle have lots of teeth, but these are very small, never caught a musky, but i think ya might lose a few digits. they look like they can do some damage. <br /><br />the only fish we need to worry about are the saugeyes. lipped my first one. then bought a gator grip.

This lake gots potential..alot of humps and drop edge points..Your right Aspeck..fished about seven hours and caught one gator(32inches). Still a little warm here but saw alot of shad starting to pool. Just for kicks I counted number of casts on first hour..19 and started trolling..arm just getting to old for extended times when searching.<br /><br />For a while there only Musky hunters I saw were JB and myself..wish some of you were closer here...would be nice to get a few of us together and do some huntn...

Still searching is right...sounds like you found an extra two hours fishing time. Wasnt your other lake two hours away and two back. If the math holds up thats an extra fish every fourth trip! <br /><br />Course you also have to factor in if your privious trip averaged 4 hours water time now you will have average water time of 6 hours that would be an increase of 33%. If you have an additional 33% water time you will also need to increase your tackle by this amount... Still with me here! This means...Well you can see where this is going!
