Abbreviated Background. Winterized on full Tank. Pulled boat out a couple weeks ago, hardly any gas in tank. No signs of leak. Would get it to turn over, not stay running. Put in fresh gas, it started but wouldn't stay running, it did run longer than before I changed gas. It acts like it wants to go fishing, but just can't stay running. Should I rebuild the carbs (did that last summer), or (open to suggestions). It's a 1994 Rude, 115. I did drain the fuel line after I put a couple gallons of fresh gas in, I just don't know what to do next. Like I said, it acts like it wants to run, and cranks over with ease, just doesn't stay running.

Boobie, when I pump the bulb it will dispell gas from the connector to the motor itself. The bulb is firm and hard to press as it is full of gas. I really don't know what else to try, unless I remove the breather and try and see if it is getting flooded.

What is your starting procedure ?-------Lift throttle only lever.---Key should be pushed in while cranking it over.---After motor starts key may need to be pushed in momentarily till motor warms a bit.

Throttle is pushed forward about halfway. I push in the choke/key when cranking, it will start, but it always dies. I did get in touch with a mechanic and am gonna drop it off on Thursday. I feel that I could eventually figure it out, but at the cost of spending countless dollars, figure I'd let someone else take a shot at it and hope He don't screw me over.

Could have leaks in your gas line system, connectors at the outboard, bad bulb? How
old is the fuel line? Are you running ethanol type fuel? could be corroding the inside of the fuel line and plugging up your freshly rebuilt carb with chunks og rubber gunk?? Torn diaphragm in carb if it has one? These are all guesses.

I think finding the leak that lost a full tank of fuel is the starting point. Portable tank or built in?

Re: New issue same problem

It's a built in plastic tank, I've searched all over I can see no signs of leaks by the tank or the batteries, no oil residue, no smell of gas. The fuel lines are new from the tank itself to the motor. I use regular gas with stabil ethenol treatment (green bottle). I'm dropping it off at the shop tomorrow as I cannot figure it out. I've exhausted my knowledge base on what the issue could be. I do thank you all for your input.
