I have an '01 26' Excalibur w/ 90hrs and I continue to pop the push-button fuse under the blower switch when ever I turn on more than 2 of the switches on the dash... The boat has a fuse block for all the electronics however when this little 5amp fuse pops, all of the electronics shut down. My guess is that the main power feeding the electronics leads to some kind of relay under the dash and this little fuse is only in line to the actual switches that control the electronics...?? Right? i don't think I have a short in any particular switch because the fuse pops with any combination of 3 being turned on... Additionally, I have a 12v plug that seems to be tied in somewhere that shuts down as well only it does not have a switch... i'm confused... i've had to reset the fuse more times than I can count... has it simple gotten weaker over time?
Suggestions?

Re: New Guy with Question

The first thing I would check would be the 12 socket you mentioned. They are notorious for shorting from the middle contact (pos.) to the socket body (neg.). Turn off all power, disconnect the wires leading to the socket, and try to get the problem to repeat. If the breaker does not kick then you fixed the problem. Get rid of the socket and buy a new better one.
If that does not work, start checking connections. Look for loose, corroded or incorrectly wired components.
Based on what you have written, it seems as if your fuse blowing is a separate issue. Each electronic component should have its own fuse. Each gizmo will either have its own inline fuse holder, or each component should have its own fuse in the fuse panel. One fuse for each component. Its possible someone wired all the gadgets to one spot in the fuse panel and used an underrated 5 amp fuse for all of them. (not a good way to do it)
