HI all, I'm Steve been around boats for a while, always had Merc, Recently bought a 84 Riniker 180V project boat with a 3.0 OMC I/O. Hull is sound, interior is being replaced, only one soft spot on floor, which I am in the process of replacing, motor starts and runs in neutral ONLY. So begins my question(s).
The motor cranks and starts in neutral, will not crank with throttle in full forward (fast warm up/choke) position, it will not turn over in any other position.
I have Sealok and Clymer manuals for this motor/drive and have searched the web but cannot find the information on these throttle/remote controls.
The boat has the original OMC single lever control, with neutral lockout and tilt and trim controls.
Any help diagnosing/repairing this would be appreciated.
