1979 1/2 mercury 115. The switch boxes that are on it have 7 total terminals. 3 upright and 4 horizontals. On the new CDI switch boxes being sold here there is 11 total terminals. 7 upright and 4 horizontal (as seen by picture). This is what I have found with part source. How do these get hooked up?

tried to copy and paste image. Didn't work. new CDI switch box number 114-7778

If you have the 7778 boxes(2 on engine) its 10 terminals and will work

Post your serial # so we can double check your ignition parts.

After looking today I see that there is 6 upright terminals and 4 horizontal on my switch boxes. I was going off of the diagram I have. So, maybe there so much of a problem. Still any info on this would be appreciated.

Notice on the switchbox alongside each terminal is printed exactly which color wire goes on each terminal.

The four across the top are the Bias which links the two boxes together, the two stator leads and the Kill wire.

Down the center are the triggers and the ignition coils.

Follow the directions that came with your new CDI box.

Make SURE that both boxes are well grounded.
