New carb needs rebuild?

Anyone ever gotten a new carb that needed a rebuild kit? I put a new 6hp carb on my Tohatsu 4B. It ran good for about an hour then flooded out and the carb leaked gas like the float was stuck.

Sort of sounds like there was some junk in the fuel, it could of come from anywhere, tank, fuel line, new carb, just clean it out.

I'll take the bowl off and clean it tomorrow before I go out. Had to flag down a bass boat and beg a tow 2 miles back to the dock this afternoon.

I absolutely hate being towed back in, the only thing worse is not being towed.

Tell me about it. Not my finest hour. Still, I was 2 miles up a creek literally without a paddle and was happy to see them round the bend.
