I am currently trying to install new brake lights on my trailor. I have hooked up two kits to my trailor and neither one worked. I have a 2002 Ford Ranger. Is there a break circuit in these trucks that might have tripped or can the problem lie in my istellation. Any sugggestions would be appretiated.

Re: New Brake Lights

are u aware that on the ford ranger, u need the adaptor harness ahead of your trailer plug.if u did not know that, go to any wallmart, auto parts store, or good sports shop and they will have what u need. i think that may be your problem.. otherwise make sure u have a good ground. also depending on the year of your truck, u may have to replace the flasher. good luck....bob

Re: New Brake Lights

I was working on a 1994 f150, It has a seperate fuse box under the hood with fuses for the trailer plug. Hope this helps. Also check for power at the plug.
