It has a ski pylon/tripod, how do I connect the ski rope to it? is there a clip or does it get looped around and tied some special way.

I can take a picture of it if I need to.

Also, it says not to attach a tube, is that because it will be higher than a tube should be pulled at?

It is not to be used for a tube because it becomes a deadly projectile if the tube were to dig in and put an extreme load on the tripod. Tow tubes from the eyes on the back of the transom. Depends what the top of the tripod looks like. Some have a ski ring on top, others are just a contoured end piece. The end of the rope should have a small loop in it, attach it in whatever way doesn't fall off.

Do you have a picture? I'm trying to picture how someone would mount one of those to a 98 bayliner

Depends on what model Bayliner it is. Here is a link to a 98 Bayliner Fish-n-Ski with the pylon installed.

The boat is a capri 1800ls, its more of a ski boat than fish. Its is similar... kinda looks like it has a spool for thread on it, here is a closer one from gander mountian

I'll take pictures when I get home.

Typical way to connect it is to put the loop from the end of the ski rope around it, twist 1/2 turn so that the loop is a figure 8 and then stick the other half of the "8" over the pole.
