I would like some information and personal thoughts on a new boat I am looking at.
I am in the market for a 17-18' aluminum bass boat, I have water tested the Alumi Craft 17' with a 50 hp Yamaha and a 17' Xpress with a 40 HP Yamaha. I have also driven a new Tracker Pro 175 TXW with a 75 HP merc.
all of these boats seem to be set up very close to each other. the first 2 were used in great condition. however I keep going back to the Tracker.
I have heard good and bad things about the tracker, I will be useing this boat every weeat least once.
I would like feed back good or bad on the tracker as described above.

Thanks, I look forward to your comments.

Re: New boat purchase

Welcome to iboats.

From what I seen and read Trackrs reputation is pretty well earned, if it is a welded boat look it over really well, they are know to have some pretty scetchy welds but they do make a decent entry level boat I personally would go wit one of the other 2 leaning towards the Alumicraft just because it has the bigger engine.

Of coarse go over it with a fine tooth comb and check the engine out, a water test is ideal but this time of year not always possible, are these from a dealer or person?

Kepe staring at them ad your boat will find you and if it i the Tracker that is fine.

Re: New boat purchase

I love my Tracker! I bought it new in '98 and still fish out of it today. Mine is the 17' deep V with a 50 hp 4 stroke and it's all I need.

Some people look down their nose at Trackers, but I think A lot of that is jealousy. Tracker makes and sells a lot of boats and has stayed a strong company while other companies have folded.

Go Tracker!!!
