It's throwing a trouble code. Could be water in fuel, low water pressure, or some other fault. I would take it in and have the codes pulled so you know what's wrong.

Thanks! I'm just wondering why it's not alarming every time the engine is running. The other day we used it and cruised around the entire lake, which = over an hour.. No alarm... Shut off motor once got back to the lift. No issues.. Went to start it up shortly there after and was alarming again once engine fired up? Someone Else the other day asked me if the water pump is plugged? Where is the inlet on the engine so I can check?

Does it have a start-up signal? Mine doesn't have one, but I've run some boats that do ... a "beep" when you first turn the key. I'm wondering if yours is faulty and getting stuck?

Is this a "new to you" boat or have you had it a few years?

Water inlets are on the lower unit of your drive.

Could be a loose wire but deciphering with the decoder ring will tell you where to start looking.

Re: New boat owner... Help

I would bet there are several different types of beep sequences all of which are defined in the manual. The system is actually really helpful "if" you know what they mean. Most of my toys (Engines) now have these systems on them, the down side to them is they are equal to idiot lights on cars/trucks. There are lots of sensors that can go bad, and throw different codes or sequence of beeps. I have one on one of my snowmobiles that is for the fuel gauge, which is broken, beeps every time I start the motor. No way I'm buying the new sensor, because it's like $200.00 !! Had a oil pressure sensor go on my truck, and that one was $435.00 just to shut the sensor off, engine was just fine!! Read the manual

It is a continuous ". Beep...beep...beep..." Loud and coming from dash... Really no sequence at all .. All beeps equal apart... Wouldn't be my shallow water alarm would it. Never heard it before. But I do know I caught my 6 year old messing with the gauge the day before all this happened... If it is... It is damn loud! Standard depth finder in it I'm guessing. Nothing fancy..again this is a 2005 Larson inboard/ outboard.. And I am new to owning it.. Bought it last fall , got it out 2 times.. This year have driven it quite a bit.. No issues... I must add boat still drives beautifully, no changes there at all either.. Confused!

The repetitive beeps are a sequence. They use all short equally spaced and all long equally spaced. Go to the above link and look it up to see what sensor to start with.

Although I admit I don't see that particular sequence listed.

And yes it could be the depth finder alarm. Pull the fuse for it and see or just check the setting..

I agree... I couldn't find anything that matched what I heard! Where do I typically find the fuse for the depth finder. Or can I just disconnect it!
