New boat owner. First question

Hello all. My name is Caleb. I’m from southern IL and I’m a proud new boat owner.

We recently purchased a 2000 model suntracker party-barge 25.

The boat is in overall great condition. Seats are perfect, carpet is perfect, no dents or dings, motor runs good.


So i pulled iy home last night and night and today I was walking around and I see this tube hanging from the lower unit with what looks like a plug in the end of it. (Sorry trying to upload pics).

Basically right on the front of the lower unit there is a threaded hole. In that hole is a brass 90 and then the tube goes through the top plate and then it is about a foot long with a plug in the end of it.


Im thibking it is a speedometer pickup tube????? But the boat doesn’t have a speedo. Some is that why it’s capped off? And it’s just hanging there, should it be tied up somewhere??

that would be the speedo pickup tube.

You should have enough posts to post pictures now ... it is probably the speedo pick-up tube, but pictures would help to clarify so we could be certain.

It will hang there if there is no speedometer to hook it up to.------Most folks today use phones to tell how fast they are living !
