Well it seems that what you see is what you get. The motor is running very good except not slow enough would like to be able to kill the motor with tiller speed?? Coming out of the hole is not very fast seem like it has to wind up. All in all it's a nice motor but really heavy but I made a gadget to help lift it out of the water. When my manual come I hope to fix some of my wishes. Thanks for all the help.:joyous::)

If you have proper idle at specs, then... if you go with a lower pitch, you will both slow the idle speed through the water and improve hole shot.

At 81.5 pounds in short/rope start version, the Tohatsu/Nissaqn 9.8A3 is the lightest in class. A Garelick tilting handle can make it easier to reach the motor, and can help with leverage when tilting.

After you measure the current WOT RPM, and verify jack height and trim, you may want to go with a different prop... but you need to make real measurements first... otherwise, you are guessing.

Ideally, you should get very near 6000 WOT RPM without going over.
