New 6HP charging system

I see that the new (2011) Tohatsu 6HP now comes with battery charging capability.

Will this system be able to be retrofitted to an older 6HP (like my 2007)?

I think the only 6hp model that comes with it as "standard equipment" is the "Sail Pro" model (the one with the ultra-long shaft for sail boaters). The standard short & long shaft models don't come with it as standard equipment but it can be added...even to your 2007 model.

The 2011 model year began on August 1st. Tohatsu releases new models based on availability, rather than a pre-planned date, so the next new model availability point will be sometime in January or maybe even February. Those new models will be 2011 labeled just like the ones released in August...But, to distinguish one release from another, yours truly is calling them 2011.5's They will have a variety of new features, but, I can't go into them until the official press release is actually released.

2011.5...ha, that's pretty good. So if the new model is released in Feb, then I guess they would really be 2011.5833 based on the "Guru Model Year Scale"!

I'll pull the sheet and post the design changes. Nothing earth shattering, but a couple of things changed for the better.
