I recently had someone give me a 1993 Sea Doo SPI I think it is. Needs a tuneup, but has a rebuilt engine. Any opinions on this model in general in terms of pros, cons, and things to look out for?
the 1993 sea doo is a great ski....I have a 95 SPX and its awesome does about 55mph on the water with a 650 Engine.....the only prep to does is make sure u have a fire extinguisher....get a water tight bag for your wallet/phone
always take 10 bucks on the water if you need to have someone tow you......
get a tow/dock rope like 20 ft is good
try it out on the water is the best thing...then post any other problems
If you'll be doing all the maintenance yourself, don't forget the grease coupler on the impeller shaft at the rear of the motor. It's easy to overlook. Sometimes it's under a plastic shield or cover. Once a season should suffice.
