Would a new 07' evinrude perform as well as a 92' XP 200? The repair cost is only going to be a few thousand more and I am afraid of other things going south after the fix. My only worry is that 50 horse less on a 20 ft stratos bass boat. Will the 15 year newer technology push the boat with 150 ponies as well as the old 200? Looking for ideas! I have never run the boat as I bought knowing the repairs, just looking for some advice.

If youv'e never run the boat before then you don't really know what it can do? Right? Personally belive you wont miss the horses that you never even got a chance to meet. NEW is NEW and OLD is OLD you Decide my friend.

REMEMBER: A boat is a hole in the water that you sink your money into:

A good running 200 will put out 50 more horses than a new 150 no matter what the age. Then again the 150 will have a factory warranty.
