Quite the deal.

Had a remodeled station reopen a few weeks ago near us and they had a little war going on. Was able to get gas for a couple weeks at $.50 below the average in the area. At that time I was paying about $1.45 per gallon.

Just to let you know it is 8f right now with a wind chill of -9f, with light snow.

Had -26f last nite. Wind chills were supposed to be around -40. Schools are delayed or closed. -18 as we speak...... And I don't care..Lol

I get 14mpg with my 4 stroke. A lot get 10-12 with 2 strokes, some higher especially the new ones. I would get more, but it's has performance mods. I know, the ? was rhetorical........Hahahaha.....

It would take more than good gas prices to get me to spend winters in Houghton, although, I'm not that far away. I'd still rather go south...... :)

Kind of think that single digits and below is all kind of the same. Too darn cold.

I also know that 30's and 40's is easier to deal with than 100 plus.

it was a few years ago when I worked a turnaround at Flint Hills?? refinery in St Paul; one of the plant personnel had remarked that gas prices were lower up north - at that time - because a lot of distributors were getting their fuel from Canada. Just because someone says something or that it is written doesn't make it true.

I get great gas mileage on the couch!!! but then, I heat with gas, so pffffffffffffffft!!

Interesting to see how low crude oil is going for presently. And we all know they are not giving it away. So since they are still making a profit both with bringing it out of the ground, and refining it, what does that say about gas when it was near $5 bucks a gallon? Makes one wonder doesn't it? :noidea:

Refining costs, taxes and transportation costs are fixed so whatever percent the crude consists of the final product is the only part that effects the price. That's why if the crude goes down by a factor of 3, the gas won't go down by a factor of 3.

Not to mention the desire for oil producing countries trying to topple the US economy again. What goes up must come down. What goes down must go up

I see Houghton was at .45, they had long lines waiting for gas. I guess the war is over and it went back up to $1.4x, which is still cheap....

We pay any were from 3.50 to 5 dollars a gallon depending on province. And thats cheap for us. I live in Sarnia Ont. Border city With our dollar trading at only 68 cents The banks charging 1.49 canadian for 1 Us dollar. 3.50 to cross bridge and 3.00 to come home i still save money when Michigain prices are 1.70 a Gallon.
