Boat: 1972 Pacemaker 26' with Crusader 270....velvet trans....shaft to prop and a rudder.
ME: I/O experience and outboard backyard certified.

Here's a few questions..... the trans and shaft...is this something that is easily taken out with normal tools? Boat is on trailer.
I'm OK with the entire motor, it's just the trans and how its connected along with shaft, no leaks ect that I haven't A CLUE!

Goal is to have trans checked, shaft checked to be straight and prop cleaned up. Purchasing boat and want to do all the maint now prior to March launch date.

Thanks in advance.

Prior to purchase, have it inspected.

the trans and shaft need to be aligned. there is a gland or stuffing box that exits the hull. since the boat hasnt been in water, assume it will leak.
