So as most of you likely saw I purchased a boat with some freeze damage issues recently. I replaced the manifold with aftermarket BAR manifold that was recognized As a "direct replacement" for a Volvo penta 3.0 GLP-C in doing this every single piece of hardware that was original needed replaced other then manifold bolts. All of the riser bolts... all of the alternator bolts all of the carb bolts/studs... nothing matched it was absolutely not a direct replacement. If they meant I needed to tap every hole then sure. But I didn't I just bought new hardware. $100 later it's done.. jesus..Jesus... just had to vent should have just bought OEM.

What was wrong with the old bolts that you couldn't re-use them ? Or at least have the old ones when you go to the hardware store . Asking for a friend .

They didn't fit the tapped holes for the new manifold. I even had to get a big spacer to correct the size difference between the BAR manifold and the oem Volvo penta one. Every bolt on OEM was between 1/8 and 1/4 to big for the aftermarket BAR manifold...
