I have a 1996 Sunbird 198. I am trying to bypass neutral safety switch. It is not working and not looking to replace. I am just trying to get motor running again motor before I pull it out. It is a Mercury throttle lever...

Disconnect the two yellow/red striped wires from the neutral safety switch and hook them together.
