I have a 1977 evinrude 25 horse model 25702h. I'm wondering what the neutral lockout lever does. When I went to take off it acted like I sheared a pin but I found the lever in pieces.
That long lever on the side of the block prevents you from opening the throttle too far when motor is in nuetral.-------It also can prevent shifting from forward to nuetral when the motor is at full throttle.
