Hi everyone....I'm new to this forum, glad to be here as I find this very helpful. Last Fall I bought a "new" Volvo-Penta Neutra- Salt system to install on my '96 Four Winns 238 Vista. It does look new except it did not come with installation instructions. My question is; where is the best place to hook up the + POS wire under the dash? should I hook it to the "ACC" terminal of the ignition switch, or to a post on my fuse block? The - NEG wire of course goes right to the battery neg terminal where the units' solenoid switch is. Thanks for any help!

Not on the accessory terminal of the switch. Hook it on any of the purple wire terminals on the gauges. Then it can be operated only when the engine is running. No need to use it any other time. Be sure it'd fused.

I would also suggest you not hook the negative terminal directly to the battery. Use the engine ground terminal or add a buss bar for your ground wires. Keeps the battery terminals from looking like a porcupine.

I thought I had the installation instructions, but can't seem to find them. Did find this.

So do I attach the + POS directly to the back of a gauge? Or to a purple wire on the fuse block? The POS wire has an in-line fuse built in, so I guess I don't need to connect to the fuse block. Years ago, in a car we'd connect stuff to the ACC terminal of the ignition switch. The wire is only about 8-10" leading to the switch, so I can't go too far with it.....

Thanks!

You are now working on a boat, not a car. ;)

THe reason I thought about connecting to the ignition switch was because the POS + wire comes fitted with an insulated "ring" connector--that looks as though it would connect to screw on the ignition switch and not the fuse block.....
