Neshaminy State Park (Croydon, PA) on the Delaware River

I've decided to keep my boat at a marina located on the river. I'd like to keep it at the Neshaminy State Park marina in Croydon. I'll be keeping my boat on a trailer with a mooring cover. Any idea how safe it would be here? It's a brand new boat and I would always keep the cover on with no valuables left on board. My concern is that the surrounding area isn't exactly that great and there's no gate/ fencing or security at night. My choice is either to take the risk or continue to keep it at my parents house an hour away which is getting old very fast.

I'd consider other marinas, but this is the only marina that will allow me to plug in my on board battery charger after using the boat which is an absolute must for how I use my boat. I spend the vast majority of my time at anchor and very little under power. I would do a wet slip, but it's really not recommended for a jetboat plus I'm OCD and want to keep it looking as new as possible.

Thanks in advance for any opinions on the safety of keeping my new boat here.

Ever consider one of the many boat clubs on the river? There are quite a few that have storage and ramps for members and should be pretty secure.Look into DRYL for one near you.Rates will probably be cheaper also.

I was actually going to join one that a friend belongs to. However, he kept forgetting to get me an application and once that's turned in it has to sit for 30 days before they vote on it. I'd be looking at getting my boat in around August which is way too late in the season for me.

30 days is not that bad of a wait if you can still trailer the boat from your parents. You have been dealing with it this long, what is another 3 or 4 weekends of towing to get you into a safe place with people that you know.

My friend still hasn't given me an application! By the time he would hand it in, the application sits for a month, and then the board votes on it I'd be lucky if I was in there by early August. I'd hate to pay full price to join when the season is near an end.

I talked to a couple of people that keep their boat at Neshaminy. I didn't realize that park rangers patrol the area since it's a state park. That really helped to ease my nerves. I still wish it was gated, though!

I'm really excited to get my boat closer to home. It's going to get a lot more use!

You might also try talking to the Rangers to learn what they report.

There is also Anchor Yacht Club in Bristol PA if you want something more secure. They are right off of radcliff street and a nice private club. My parents were members here for years until they sold their boat a year or so ago. Dont let the Yacht Club name fool you, From what I know it was very reasonable and had a nice clubhouse too. and even have picnics and member events. We never had a problem with any of our boats we kept their year round.

Hope this helps as well.
