Hello everyone, so I over tightened the needle valve in the carb and the tip is broken off. I need to borrow a compressor to try blowing it out with air. Does anyone else have some ideas?

This is a carb from a '90-94 40HP. Long story short carb was updated on an '84 Mariner(Yamaha) serial number is of not much help. We had to order the carb kit by inspecting the gaskets in the order book. Original was not correct.

Thanks for an suggestions.

Other then air I would stick it in the freezer. Give it a few hours and see if it will fall out. Freezing will cause both parts to shrink

Thank you, i thought about that as well. Wasn't too sure if that was going to do what I thought it would do.

good chance the seat was damaged also.
they say to lightly seat the screw to avoid damaging the soft seat not break the steel screw

So the freezer trick didn't work. And I have to get something better for compressed air. I was unable to get something into the jet from the other side very well. Will have to keep picking away at it and see if I can make an adaptor for the air to get at it. Thanks for the suggestions. And I suppose thanks for the concern about the seats. Won't figure that one out until/if I get the needle out.
