hello, i'm working on the carbs mercury model 1350 1971' . the needles don't seem to be dropping freely and not as much as all the other carbs i have seen when turning upside down then to right side up. top carb needle seems to stick altogether. what is the best way to drive out the pin that holds the float levers ? thanks for any help

turtles, the pivot pin for the float should easily slide out with just a small pick or screwdriver. Then clean the seat area very well with some carb cleaner spray and visible look at the needle to see if it is damaged or worn. Also shake the float if it is plastic or metal to see if it has any fuel inside. If either look suspect, buy a carb kit and totally clean the entire carb and install the new parts. JMHO!
