I got a boat in very bad shape and someone "half" worked on it and gave up. I cant figure out the wiring since everything is either cut up or he used about 100 feet of red wire on everything. One concern I have is that one engine is not original (either a 327 rebuild or a 350 replacement) and I think the distributer has no spark...I'm not even sure what kind of distributor it is..maybe a delco but its not supposed to be on this year engine. I especially need the wiring from and around the coil to the distributor. I have three wires and have tried diff configurations but no spark. I replaced all the tune up items including replacing the coil and the external resistor but still no spark....getting frustrated.
Also, I know one of the starters is going bad...anyone have a set of starters for these 327 engines that work and can sell cheap? fyrman1@juno.com

Before you go out and buy starters you are aware that a marine starter and auto starter are two different beasts? Anyhow, I think that your best bet on the wiring problem is just to go to the helm and cut everything off. Throw it all away and start fresh. Nothing more frustrating than trying to fix someone else's screw up's. Been there - done that. After two weeks of doing what you're trying to accomplish I finally broke down and called my dad. First thing he did was go to the dash panel and start cutting wires. I mean they ALL came off. Now we just rewired it all. Sounds like a pain but in the long run everything was new, everything worked and the problem was solved. Don't be totally bummed - it just might be a good alternative if you want to spend the time and keep the boat. :D
