I found the model # that I need (SHS 5W), but cannot find this in stock anywhere. Will a SHS 7W work? (7 pins instead of 5 - will the other two pins just be static?)

Thanks,
Tim

Re: Need Transducer for Hum Wide 3D View

rndn,

Thanks, but that's why I came here... I have the manual, and cannot find any info there about alternates. I have sent email enquiries to humminbird with no response for a week now, and have also spoken with the 800 tech/repair line yesterday. The lady simply said that my "model is discontinued and I should look on eBay for the transducer...." She had no info on the model other than the shs 5w was the factory transducer.

No Kidding.

Did you look at this one? It states it is compatible with the wide view, however in all honesty, for $84 bucks I would just buy a completely new unit.

This eBay link is for a complete unit and is currently for sale for $30+ bucks. You may want to see if you can get it.

This site lists the SHS-5W, but it is listed for $100 bucks, again I'd just get a new unit.

I found this and several others using this Google search.

rndn has provided allot of options for you. Before paying too much, find some HB View 3D users. I don't remember these early 3D units being that popular. I think many were disappointed that the display did not give them the detail they were expecting. I have never seen one on the water, only going by what I remember as the "buzz" back then.

Re: Need Transducer for Hum Wide 3D View

I really like this finder. It is simple, easy to set, and does everything I need (speed, 3-D orientation of fish and terrain to boat) without overkill. I goofed up last week trying to run it through a hole that needed to be a bit larger, and popped the end off of the cable. I really do not want to spend 3+ for a comparable replacement (that I have to learn). I am willing to spend 75 or so for a replacement transducer, if I can find one. The $25 one mentioned above sold in may (before I needed it)

And the other options mentioned by rndn are for a wide view - they don't work with a wide 3d view. (except for the "3d wide side", but then I lose the 3d view in exchange for side views from above the boat.)

thanks for the feedback.
