need to find a GEAR CABLE for an old boat

Hey All! <br />Ive got a 1958 gear box in my boat, the gear cable needs to be replaced and i'll be damned if i cant find one anywhere! most of the shops ive called have told me they dont make those anymore and advised me to post a message on the internet. Ive got the part number # 29564A16<br />It needs to be at least 16 feet or longer and between the year 1950-1960. Any ideas on where to look or anything would be GREATLY appreciated!

Daniel- I did a 'NLA' search on MERCNET and as of 3/19/03 **** Sherrer Marine in Norwalk,Calif reported having ONE of those cables...phone=(562)868-9809...good luck !

thanks I tried their and they cannot find the cable in their warehouse so back to pointA. <br />Please keep me updated on any other information you might run across, thanks.
