Re: Need Tach Wiring

welcome aboard :) <br />if you haven't already purchased a tach, I reccomend<br />"Tiny Tach", just hook to 1 plug wire and ground.<br />cheap ($35?) and easy, and works on all OB's.<br />think they sell them here???<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Unfortunitely I already have 2 tachs here. Almost done restoring my 1958 Tru Ski and almost out of money for extras so was hoping I could use one of these.

Re: Need Tach Wiring

The one I really want to use is an old Airguide. It has 2 wires coming out of it and a 5 position switch numbered 1,2,3,4,5 and the 2 wires are Yellow and Black.<br />The other I have no idea what it is but it had 3 lugs marked Ignition, Send, Ground and has a switch marked 2P4C, 3P4C, 4P2C, 5P, 6P (P=pulse,C=Cylinder)

Re: Need Tach Wiring

I found out my Airguide Tach will work on my motor. Also got the wiring and setting. Seems Minn-Kota bought out Airguide in 1993 and they still have alot of the old information on file. They were very helpful.

Great Bill, I didn't know if your Model had an Alternator. Assumed it didn't have an Alternator system. Glad it worked out....

Re: Need Tach Wiring

Rick,<br />No alternator...has a generator....but these old tachs have a built in system so you can hook right up to the wire coming off the magneto to the switch and the other to ground.
