I am changing my drum brakes on my 5700 lb 2 axel trailer to disk brakes. This means having to get a new coupler that is compatible with disk brakes. For convenience when backing up I want some kind of automatic lock-out feature as part of the coupler. Any suggestions as to what brand you would recommend?

You need a back up solenoid. I recomend using the ones made by your disc brake mfg. But any brand will work. dico, fulton, tie down. you can check here at I boats or a trailer parts warehouse. I have a trailer parts liquidator near here. I buy lots of things for many rv parts are simular to marine.

The master needs to be for disc brakes. But the only difference is an 1/8" hole in the nylon washer on the end of the piston inside the master. Since you're doing a new system I'd get a new master anyway just to start totally clean. Champion trailer sells everything you'll need. And definitely get the reverse solenoid not the lockout one.
