Need sugestions on portable fish finder

Looked at several fish finders, and need help. They are all humminbirds. One is the 343c, 345c 565 and 570. Some are color, and some not. Just doing some river fishing from a 14 ft boat. Needs te be self contained.[batt.] Looking to spend around 300 or so. Needs to be suction mount, but that can be adapted. The black and white have a bigger screen 5 in.The color have 3.5.Will the biger screen make up for the color difference? I do not fish at night. Any help will be great.

I own a portable Humminbird 150 black and white and here's my opinion:

-the suction cup will get lost eventually
-black and white is fine for me, backlit screen is pretty nice
-dual beam is the way to go, just costs a little more, wish I had spent the $$ but I got this one for $80 on ebay
-temp gauge stopped working after a few months, not sure why
-battery life is very good, hasn't run out yet on a fishing trip

I like humminbirds but haven't had the best luck with this one, I also have a Lowrance and Eagle that are permanent mount for my new boat. I like being able to take the portable in my 16', 12' or canoe easily with the little battery.
