Re: need some info on a clinton

Every time someone post about a motor that there needing info on i almost always find a lot of info on www.discount-marine-parts.com. They have parts and manual from 1954-1980 models. Id contact them and see what they have. Are the numbers you provided off of a tag on the engine? Do you know the serial number for the whole outboard? They have a huge list of serial numbers on the sight but i couldn't match your numbers with anything. Id call them anyway because i couldn't find parts i needed on the sight but called and they had what i needed.

I have been ripped off by Vern once, he uses the 300% markup strategy and he buys his Eska stuff from certified, once bitten twice shy baby.
typical $3 part $8+shipping $7, postage was about 88 cents, set of rings $30 postage $7 actual cost was less than 2 dollars.

One should be a little smarter when you buy, If they think they have a turky you will get carved

Oh believe me i just got the bad end of that about 20 minutes ago. I had bought a rebuild kit for a carb and it was next to nothing i think i paid 20 bucks shipping and all and the kit had everything in it and i couldnt find it anywhere. I just had to order a coil, condenser, and points for a 1968 mcculloch and it was $80 with shipping. that is ridiculous. Ill junk a motor before i have to buy parts from them again. and im going through all my post that ive mentioned there sight and warning people to stay away.

yep, I hate to knock anybody or there business but outragous unbridled greed is what drives that outfit.
Thats why I always point people to Ebay.
I will say that Certified parts corp has been the most reasonable and friendly people I have ever done business with concerning the Eska's and Ted Williams gamefishers, they never charge me more than the actual shipping and once I need just a base gasket and they wouldn't even take my money...just sent me the gasket, free gratis.
