Without the serial # it'll be hard to determine the age. You can contact Nissan Marine with your serial # and they should be able to tell you the model year. Just go to
www.nissanmarine.com and go to their "contact us" page.
You can narrow down the year based on the color. From '85 to around '92 they were blue. In '92 they changed to gray (with a black strip for the decal). Around 2000 they changed decals to be a "swoosh" (for lack of a better term) type "N". And in 2006 they changed to the current dark, dark blue (looks black) color. Since yours is a 40D2 carbureted model, I doubt it's a 2006/2007 model since they stopped selling them a few years prior to that due to EPA restrictions.
But get the s/n and contact Nissan Marine and they can tell you the exact year.
