I have a 2005 250 VMAX HPDI
Turning a 25 Tempest plus on a 203 Champion.
Picked this boat up last spring and after one or two trips have lost 500 RPM.
Plugs are changed, all filters have just been changed etc etc. Nothing else has changed. Weight, prop, etc etc.
YDS says 73 degrees open and TPS of 3.99 volts when the hotfoot is mashed.
While still hooked up to the YDS and hotfoot mashed, I can press on the cam and the numbers go up.
Got home from fishing today and took the airbox cover off(assuming thats what it is called)
Pressed the hotfoot down and looked at the butterflies. Pressed on the cam and the butterflies opened up a bit more. Not alot, but they definitely opened up some more.
The cam accelerator has a tab that is spring loaded, and appears to move the cam the last little bit. Is it possible this spring is worn out and not pushing the cam the last little bit???
Or, am I way out in left feild.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a 250 to run like a 250, not a 200, and at my wits end.
Thanks in advance
